SSU Transfer Student Appreciation Week

Please join us in celebrating National Transfer Student Week, October 19–23! This week is dedicated to recognizing the valuable contributions of our transfer students and highlighting the pathways that lead them to success at SSU. Transfer Students, each event you attend earns you an entry into a drawing for a prize bag. The more events you attend, the more chances you have to win!

  • Monday, 10/19
    • Transfer Student Appreciation Week Kick-off Lunch & Social | 12 p.m.–2 p.m. | Overlook, 3rd Floor, Student Center
      • Kick off the week with Mary’s Pizza Shack pasta and salad, connections, and community! Meet fellow transfer students and connect with campus departments and student services that are here to support you throughout your SSU journey!
  • Tuesday, 10/20
    • Hidden Gems Resource Fair | 12 p.m.–2 p.m. | McCabe Plaza, outside Library 1st floor
      • Explore SSU’s hidden gems - campus resources and services that support transfer students! Connect with campus departments in a festive atmosphere while enjoying Sol Azteca tiny tacos and treats along the way!
  • Wednesday, 10/21
    • Headshots & Head Starts | 11 a.m.–1 p.m. | Stevenson Hall Lobby
      • The Career Center wants to help you get career-ready! Stop by for a free professional headshot, grab a blazer or top from our pop-up Career Closet, set-up or polish your LinkedIn profile, and connect to LinkedIn Learning. Finish all three steps and take home an SSU Career Center interview kit. Swirl Time fro-yo for everyone who stops by! 
  • Thursday, 10/22
    • Lobo’s Night Market | 4:30 p.m.–7 p.m. | Seawolf Plaza
      • Shop a makers market featuring local small businesses and student vendors offering jewelry, clothing, art, and more! The first 50 students who bring a hygiene-item donation for Lobo’s Pantry will receive a free tote bag. Be sure to check in at the Transfer Student table for some goodies and a chance to win a prize bag! 
    • REACH Transfer House Networking | 6 p.m.-8 p.m. | Beaujolais Meeting Room
      • Meet fellow transfer students, pick up professional networking tips, and enjoy free food! Open to all SSU transfer students - come make connections and grow your community.
  • Friday, 10/23
    • Transfer Success Drop-In Advising | 11 a.m.–1 p.m. | Zoom
      • Join University Advising on Zoom for drop-in advising support. We can review your ARR and transfer credits to check how your courses transferred over, help you complete any necessary forms or connect you with the right department, and help get your ARR up to date before Spring registration begins in November!
